A fullstack developer covers both frontend (what the user sees in the browser – interface, forms, interactions) and backend (server, API, databases, business logic). They can build a complete web application without splitting the work between specialists.

For small and medium projects one person is often enough – development is faster, communication simpler and the architecture consistent. For very large systems separate teams can make sense; for typical web applications fullstack is efficient.

Medium-scale web applications: portals, internal tools, systems with login, payment gateway and API integrations. For very large enterprise systems with dozens of developers I’d recommend a larger team; for most business and startup projects fullstack is sufficient.
